As you most likely know, last Sunday I preached the sermon “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.” The reaction to this message has been mixed, and so I thought I should expand more on the topic, and explain why I preached it.
My aim in this sermon was to teach you, my listeners, about the horrors of hell, the dangers of sin, and the terrors of being lost forever, all of which awaits those who do not follow Christ’s urgent call to receive forgiveness. What I truly long to see is all of you, each one of you, turn from disaster to Jesus, the rightful object of your affections.
I ended this sermon with this plea: “Therefore let everyone that is out of Christ, now awake and fly from the wrath to come.”
